GLOBAL TALENT SCHEME MADE PERMANENT
The Global Talent Program, which was a trial part of the TSS/482 visa program, has become a permanent feature of the program, and renamed the Global Talent Employer Sponsored (GTES) program.
This is a highly specialised part of the general temporary employer sponsored migration program. It allows eligible employers to sponsor overseas workers with highly specialised skills, whose occupations are not on the standard occupation lists. It can lead to permanent residence.
To be eligible, employers must be able to show:

- Skills and knowledge can be transferred to Australian workers
There are two streams available to companies:
♦ Established Businesses:
- Must be accredited TSS sponsors
- Must be seeking to employ workers with cutting edge skills
- Must have a minimum turnover of at least AUD4 million over the past two years, or be publicly listed
- Demonstrate that access to this program will support job opportunities and skills transfers for Australian workers
- Minimum salary of $148,700
- Visa applicant must have at least three years’ relevant experience
- Normal health and character requirements
♦Start-up businesses:
-
- This stream is for start-up businesses operating in the technology or STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
- Must have have received an investment of at least AUD50,000 from an investment fund registered as an Early Stage Venture Capital Limited Partnership OR have received an Accelerating Commercialisation Grant at any time
- Companies must be endorsed by an independent advisory panel
- Demonstrate that access to this program will support job opportunities and skills transfers for Australian workers
- Minimum salary of $80,000

The above is a summary of the complex requirements to access this program. Please contact us directly if you have any questions regarding eligibility, or if you require further details.
