After graduating from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce, Brian became a qualified Chartered accountant (CA) and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia.
Since setting up BD Welsh & Co, Brian has earned a Graduate Diploma of Advanced Taxation at the University of NSW. He also undertook training with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ATSIC) to become a Registered Company Auditor and also with the Tax Practitioners Board to become a Registered Tax Agent.
Brian has a keen interest in Japanese social and business culture reflected in BDWelsh & Co’s strong service offering to Japanese clients.
A fluent Japanese speaker, Brian started studying Japanese in high school and then continued at university before moving to Japan in the early 1980s. His 13 years of experience with top management and accounting firms includes working with both PricewaterhouseCoopers Japan and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC.
While working in Japan, Brian met his wife, who is Japanese, and the couple moved to Sydney in the early 1990s.
Adrian Felton

Adrian is BDWelsh & Co’s senior expert on migration matters. His 15 years of experience providing advice on migration and visas has seen him develop an extensive knowledge of the full range of visas including employer-sponsor visas and business visas.
In addition to acting as an agent in visa applications, Adrian also has experience in visa re-examination requests and also appears as a witness in Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) matters.
Adrian has specialised experience advising Japanese companies, individuals and small business customers. He has also advised companies and individuals from many other countries.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education and he started his career as a teacher in country NSW.
Adrian then earned a law degree from Macquarie University and the NSW College of Law before embarking on a new career as a solicitor.
Before joining BDWelsh & Co, Adrian worked as a solicitor and migration agent for a large staffing firm before becoming Director of its visa. More recently, Adrian worked as the Principal of a visa-consulting firm.
