Tax Planning and Advice

Providing tax advice on a wide range of tax planning issues is a core part of our practice.

Not only do we give advice on domestic tax issues we regularly advise on tax planning matters of an international nature as well.

Our tax planning advice can span the complete life cycle of a business from choosing the right structure when starting off a business; to choosing the most effective means of bringing in new partners to the business; to deciding how best to divest the assets and distribute the profits of a business on a wind up or merger.

A range of tax issues need to be considered on the acquisition or sale of a business including goods and services tax (GST), capital gains tax (CGT) and income tax issues, as well as state taxes such as stamp duty. We can advise on all of these issues.

For individuals and families we are often asked to consult on a wide array of tax planning matters – be it the best way to structure an individual’s investments; tax matters related to family law; or tax-related estate planning and inheritance issues on the passing of a parent.

Tax-effective salary packaging is an important aspect of retaining key staff in a progressive organisation. We can structure a salary package for personnel which benefits both employer and employee.

Besides assisting in the administration of self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF) superannuation planning and advice is a staple part our practice work. We pride ourselves on giving tax-effective advice in relation to the set up and ongoing operation of SMSFs.
